Dana Schroeder has spent her career in marketing and business development.  She has a BA in marketing and a Master’s in Cultural studies.  She’s worked mostly in the healthcare industry until 2009 when she was hired by the Small Business Administration to fulfill a grant to assist small companies all over the state of Florida.

Her strong background in marketing, strategic long-range planning, budgeting and customer relations uniquely positions her to be a great resource for our members. She recently received her designation as a Florida Certified Chamber Professional from the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals.

Dana’s a local resident and loves living only a couple of miles away from the Chamber building.  You can often see her patrolling in the Chamber golf cart as she visits member businesses.  And speaking of patrolling, she volunteers with the SCC Security Patrol every week and is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team. Dana is president of Feline Folks and volunteers for American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association and Mary and Martha House. She’s a writer with columns in The Observer and hosts the weekly radio show About the Town on Sun Radio 96.3 FM.

Dexter Charles has worked in a variety of industries included but not limited to his proven experience as Operations Manager for a manufacturing company, IT Manager for a large university, Engineering Manager for a business machine sales and services company and C.E.O. of his own business machine sales and service company for 9 years.

During his 25 years of management experience Mr. Charles developed a reputation as an action-oriented and results driven executive with the determination and drive to get things done. He is adept at quickly zooming in on the right business solution from among viable alternatives applying leading edge project management and problem solving methodologies.

He has a Masters of Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Business in Tampa and a Bachelors of Science from DeVry University in Arlington, Virginia in Network Management all achieved with honors. He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and served as a committee member for the PMI Tampa Bay symposium and is currently the Director of Registration.

His expertise means he’s able to help our membership with all types of technical issues and membership services.

Originally from the twin island state of Trinidad and Tobago, the land of Steel Band, Calypso and mother of Brooklyn’s Labor Day Carnival, Toronto’s Caribana, Notting Hill’s Carnival and countless others around the world, Dexter is an avid sports fan. He enjoys watching all types of sporting events from the popular to the obscure. It does not matter. In his younger days, he  participated in a number of them. These days his sporting activities are confined to indoor games like darts, pool or bowling.
